The amplified piezo actuator is an actuator that amplifies and outputs the displacement generated by low-voltage piezo stacks preloaded by a mechanical amplifying structure.

The amplified structure is an mechanical shell, and its material is generally steel. In addition to providing optimized pre-tightening force for piezo stacks, it also protects piezo stacks from tensile forces that can cause irreversible or even fatal damage to piezo stacks. The mechanical amplified structure also provides the user with mechanical interface, easy to integrate.

Piezo stack actuators produce deformation displacement along the main axis, while the elliptical mechanical structure amplifies the displacement along the short axis direction, that is, the mechanism amplifies the piezoelectric actuator to extend the piezoelectric ceramic laterally by the principle of mechanism amplification. The long displacement is amplified to the axial displacement output. The material of the elliptical mechanical structure is generally steel. In addition to providing an optimized pre-tightening force for the piezoelectric stacked ceramics, it also protects the stacked ceramics from being subjected to tensile force. The tensile force affects the piezoelectric stacked ceramics. Produce irreversible or even fatal damage. The force and displacement of the mechanism-amplified actuator is much greater than that of the direct-drive actuator or other piezo bender.
